How long is each lesson?
Octanauts lessons are 25minutes long in 30minute blocks. This allows time for occasional brief parent feedback, completion of registers, progress and popping equipment on/off. Commonly swimmers get 28minutes in the water.
What does Aqua 6 mean?
Octanauts lessons are Aqua 3, 6 or 9, the number relates to the maximum number of participants within the class.
What do I need to bring?
Octanauts provide all the required equipment you will need to learn to swim, please bring your own swim kit and towel. Goggles are optional and recommended from Octanauts 3,
a free swim hat to help keep our pools clean, is available from your teacher at each pool.
How long will it take to learn to swim?
As with everything we learn each child or adult develops at an individual pace. A nervous beginner will naturally take longer to complete the first 2 stages than a confident one. From stage 3 upwards the learning outcomes significantly increase in type and technique required. As swimmers progress to improver and advance levels their duration within each stage is likely to extend.
Do I pay for certificates?
Absolutely not! All stages include 5 certificates the cost of which is already covered within your lesson fee. (No hidden fees with Octanauts)
Do lessons continue athrough the holidays?
This is venue dependant, Octanauts aim to run 48 weeks per year, closing over Easter and Christmas, some facilities do require us to close occasionally during holidays for essential maintenance. Upkeep of facilities is important to us and working together is vital.
Are there any discounts for lessons?
A 10% family discount is automatically applied to families who have 3 or more siblings attending lessons with Octanauts. It's fine for these classes to be at separate venues with us
Do you accept childcare vouchers as payment for lessons?
Octanauts do not accept any external vouchers, we do often supply these to community events and school raffles so keep those eyes peeled!
