Hi I'm Sue, I own and actively manage Octanauts Swim School

I have been involved in teaching swimming for close to 25 years, it is my passion that every child and adult should learn to swim, share a love for the water.

My early years were spent assisting beginners at a local swimming club prior to gaining formal qualifications in 1999.

I am also an experienced Tutor of Swimming Teachers and National Tutor for the Royal Life Saving Society.

Over the last 10 years I have developed swimmers, lifeguards and teachers internationally. 


Hi I'm Ashleigh and I'm a swimming teacher at the Jaguar sports and social club on a Saturday afternoons.

I really enjoy teaching all stages and abilities and watching the swimmers confidence grow.

I first began as a swim assistant with Octanauts and gained my teaching qualification in 2019.

I am also studying photography with a particular interest in fashion and portrait photography.

As well as spending time taking and editing photos, I love to spend time with family and friends.


Hi I'm Nichola, known to most as Nic.

I am the swimming lesson coordinator for Octanauts and also

 the lead teacher at Tiverton Monday to Friday. I teach at the Jaguar sports and social club on a Saturday afternoon.

As well as being a swim teacher I'm a mermaid instructor 

I'm passionate about my role and get great pleasure from teaching.

I also work part time as a catering assistant.

I'm a mum of 3 and enjoy spending my spare time with my family.


Hi I'm Ria,

I teach at the Jaguar sports and social club on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday

As well as a teacher I am also an Aquabatix instructor.

I am passionate about my job and love to see everyone gaining confidence in the water and progressing through the stages.

Water safety is a very important life skill that I feel everyone should learn.

I am a mum to 4 daughters so in my spare time I love to spend time with my family having fun.


Hi I'm Marcel and I've been swimming all my life.

I'm currently at sixth form studying Engineering.

I started working for Octanauts in 2018, which is where I began assisting in the water. During Lockdown I gained a few more qualifications and I am now a qualified swim teacher.

I teach on at the Jag on Sundays and Cardinal Wiseman on Fridays I continue to be a pool assistant on Saturday afternoons so I may see some of you swimming.

I really enjoy helping out and watching all the swimmers progress through their stages.


Hi I'm Luke, I attend Blue Coat sixth form studying business, philosophy and PE.

I am grade 8 drums and like music.

I was on course to get my silver Duke Of Edinburgh but was halted by covid.

I recently stopped playing top tire academy football for Southam and Coventry.

I love going to the gym in my spare time as I would like to join the Royal Marines in the future.

I am a swimming teaching assistant at Tiverton school on Mondays and a Teacher at Jag on Fridays. 

I am really passionate about my job as I love seeing people improve.

I really enjoy my job and try my best to achieve the best.
